Food debris beneath a microwave turntable can cause uneven movement and noise. Cleaning the glass plate and roller ring keeps the tray stable and reduces odor.

Remove parts carefully

Unplug the microwave if cleaning near the drive socket. Lift the glass plate with both hands and remove the roller ring.

Wash and inspect

Wash the plate and ring with warm water and mild detergent. Check the rollers for stuck food and cracks.

Clean the drive area

Wipe the center hub without flooding the opening. Remove crumbs before replacing the ring in its track.

Test movement

Set the plate correctly and rotate it by hand. Run a short cycle with a cup of water and listen for wobbling.
